Telescope Reviewer

About Us

About Us: The Telescope Reviewer team is composed of telescope aficionados and experts who do their best to try out the various telescopes they encounter in their work and pursuits and to review them for our reader’s behest. We strive to keep up with the latest consumer trends and new releases so that the telescopes reviewed on our website are the ones people actually are interested in. Our goal is to give the reader a complete general idea of what a particular model’s strength and weaknesses are, so they can know what to expect from it in order to make the decision that suits them best. Each one of our reviews follows a standard structure to make sure that we give our readers all the info they need on the telescope: features, technical specs, price, pros and cons, warranty info and accessories, info on how to care for the telescope and so on.

We also inform our readers of special events scheduled to take place in the world of telescope enthusiasts, as well as news and in-depth history pieces regarding telescopes and amateur astronomy. Our website is intended to be a place where both beginners and mid-level to expert hobbyist astronomers can find everything they need. In time, as the site will grow, we plan to also include astrophotography tutorials so that our readers can truly make the most out of their hobby and out of their telescope investments. Happy star-gazing!

Laura Ray John – Founder & Senior Editor

Lauren Ray John grew up in Kansas City. Her father used to work at the Powell Observatory in Louisburg and he would sometimes take Lauren to see the stars. Not long after that, she started to share his passion for astronomy. Even though she didn’t pursue a career in that field, she kept astronomy in her heart and started Telescope Reviewer to honor her father’s memory and to help other people realize that this science can be a good opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones.
